Friends – Lunch Club - UNE’ - Flat Stanley
November was quite an exciting month. First off…my son, J.J. proposed to his girlfriend of 4 ½ years on Nov. 10th. Crystal said YES! Two days later it was his 24th b-day. John and J.J. went on a ‘manly man mission’ (before J.J. had proposed…lol) for a few days to Solvang to celebrate his b-day. John took the Amtrak train home and J.J. drove back up to NorCal. They had a great time. http://www.solvangca.com/
While the guys were in Solvang doing their thing I went to stay with my dear friends Zack and Bill. We had so much fun. They took me to The Buchanan Restaurant and Pub for lunch. It looks like an English pub inside. Great fried shrimp! After lunch we went to Universal City Walk to see the ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ in 3-D. http://www.citywalkhollywood.com/
On Nov. 5th Zack and I went to Amoeba Music in Hollywood. http://www.amoeba.com/ I bought the 5th season of ‘Magnum P.I.’ That same day the Writers Guild Strike started. Zack and I saw a lot of picketers in front of Universal, NBC, Disney and other studios. We honked to show our support.
At night we chilled and watched movies. OMG! Bill and I ate a whole apple pie. It was so darn good… right Bill? Zack whipped up some delicious dinners. I had a wonderful time!
The ‘Lunch Club’ decided on the Smoke House for its Nov. gathering. It’s a very nice restaurant. The club member’s that attended for Nov. were Bill, Zack, John, me, Susan, Michael, Diane, Mark. Erin Murphy was unable to attend this lunch club date. The food was excellent! They serve fried pickles here….how strange! LOL!

John and I went to the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills on Nov. 20th to watch UNE’ perform. He opened for Malcolm Jamal-Warner (The Cosby Show). Everyone was really into UNE’S music. We didn’t want him to stop singing. What a voice! Malcolm was feeling a little bit under the weather that evening L ….but he played a mean bass guitar and recited his poetry. He did great! I hung with Ernest Thomas and I got to meet Roger E. Mosley who played T.C. on ‘Magnum P.I.’. Oh yah! One of my favorite TV shows.
I have a wonderful fan from Pennsylvania who is a third grade teacher. We’ve never met but we’ve become good friends. J
He does a project with his students every year called ‘Flat Stanley’. Mr. S mails me ‘Flat Stanley’ so I can take him on adventures with me. Flat Stanley is going to be very busy. So far he’s been to Disneyland (a few times), he’ll be going on a plane in a few days to Las Vegas, and he even gets to go to Hawaii in February. He is one lucky guy…lol! I’m even going to take him to the ‘MY P.I.M.P. TV’ set so he can meet Ernest Thomas and Pebbles J Who knows…maybe he’ll be a guest on our show. When Flat Stanley has been on all of his adventures I will send him back home to the students so they can read and see photos of all the places he’s been and the people he has met a long the way. J
